CME: STATUS UPDATE ON INFECTIOUS DISEASES – EQUIP TO ENDURE THE CHALLENGES

The Department of Microbiology in Government Thiruvannamalai Medical College organised a “Symposium on Infectious Diseases” on 18th October, 2023. Dr.G.Hariharan , Dean of Government Thiruvannamalai Medical College inaugurated and delivered the Presidential address in the program. Dr.P.Sangeetha, Vice Principal, Dr.M.Balasubramanian, Medical Superintendent Incharge, Dr.M.Kathir, Resident Medical Officer were part of the program.

Infectious Diseases like Dengue,Nipah, HIV, Zoonotic Diseases were discussed elaborately. Ways to prevent and control Healthcare associated infections and judicious use of antibiotics were discussed by experts in that field. Common fungal infections in agriculturists were also discussed. Faculty, students and staff nurses from various colleges attended the symposium and get benefitted.
